 TESTIMONIALS
“We are writing to offer the heartfelt thanks of the family and friends of Vera B. Vera was under your care at Del Mar Gardens for 15 days, ending with her passing late Sunday night on February 25th. Throughout her life, Vera was a hardworking woman who loved God and lived modestly. She always demonstrated care and compassion for those who needed it, much like all of you have chosen to do each day. I wish you all could have known her when she was healthy and happy as she was a great lady. As her condition worsened throughout 2006, it became increasingly difficult for our family as the medical community was not able to offer solutions or relief for the various afflictions caused by her progressively worsening condition of stenosis. After visitng her at St. Rose Hospital one night, my father and I agreed that we simply did not know what to do next. The following day, Dr. Rollins suggested hospice care and we began meeting all of you. As we learned your mission and began to watch you work, it quickly became apparent that the skill and compassion of the great team at Creekside was undoubtedly the best path to helping her to the end of her life with the most dignity and least suffering possible. Honestly, we don’t know how all of you find the strength to do what you do so well each day. You are the bravest people we have ever met and we will never forget the care you provided Vera. Truly, it far exceeded anything any doctor, nurse, or medical facility was able to deliver in the previous 45 days. Lastly, I would like to extend my personal thanks for the friendship and compasssion you offered to my father. It was a terribly difficult time for him as they were happily married for over 59 years. You helped him through it, and although I know he will miss her greatly, I’m confident he’ll be fine in great part to all of you. Thanks again Creekside friends...I have told many people about your organization and we will always hold your people and efforts in the highest regard.”

“When it was apparent that My Beloved husband needed palliative care, a nurse, who was also a personal friend, suggested I phone Creekside and request some help. The amazing staff that came to us, at home, was so incredibly efficient and kind, we were awed by the fact that so many dear people could have actually been hired by one company. John could not have been handled with greater skill and kindness had he been a member of each person's family. And, when he passed on, the staff continued to give me the courage to reach out, accept their care, and mend to the degree that I could be of help to others who were going through the same experience. This is an extraordinary blend of Social workers, Pastors, office workers and nurses - the epitome of Love made Visable.”

“When people ask me why I work for Creekside Hospice I often say this; Many days I am able to go home with the feeling I have helped bring a semblance of order to a life in the midst of chaos. It’s not always an easy job, but by honoring the hard decisions, or endeavoring to help maintain the terminally ill person’s dignity, and comfort, where and when they need us most, leaves me with a sense of fulfillment. I truly feel it is an enormous privilege to work at Creekside Hospice. I know that there are many people that wish they could say their jobs meant that much to them.”

“I'd like to say "thank you" to Creekside Hospice, the patients and their families for allowing me to do what I do.”
